Self Determination

Did You Know?

If your child is a Regional Center client, you may have the option of participating in California’s Self-Determination Program. This program gives eligible families greater choice and flexibility in selecting the providers and supports that best meet their child’s individual needs.

What is Self-Determination?

The California Regional Center Self-Determination Program (SDP) gives eligible individuals and families greater choice and control over the services and supports they receive.

Instead of using only traditional Regional Center services, families can choose providers who best fit their child’s strengths, goals, and daily needs. This allows services to be personalized and focus on meaningful, real-life development.

At Think Play, we create individualized, relationship-based programs that support communication, social development, independence, emotional regulation, executive functioning, and community participation.
